Changing lanes

This year has been about turning my photography from a selfish hobby, to a supplemental income source for my family. In addition to taking my craft more seriously, I've finally built a website to promote my work. It's been a tedious process at times but I've had help along the way. I was pleased with Flickr for many years as a way to share my images but I never got the kind of feedback I was hoping for.

With Wordpress and GoDaddy, I was able to purchase a domain name and build the framework for my very own site. I would be remiss if I didn't mention Rafael Concepcion's book: Get Your Photography On The Web. For less than $25 on Amazon, it's really worth the price. The book is a great starting point but doesn't always answer the deeper questions or deal with the challenges presented by various Wordpress Themes. It's like getting the keys to your first car and a map of your town. If you want to go further, you'll have to do some exploring on your own.
